Here's a mnemonic I've created to help you memorise the rule about what the present tense is used for in French. Watch the video!

I am eating seafood in my favourite restaurant right now. It’s delicious! I come here every Saturday and I eat seafood every time. And it’s always the same – it’s always delicious! It doesn’t matter if I’m eating it now, or if I eat it every Saturday. It’s always the same experience. So, remember that the verb form in the French present tense is the same:
- When the action you’re describing is happening now, as you are speaking
- When the action you’re describing happens on a habitual or regular basis
